Andama Galleries: OOAK, Reborn Babies :: About the Gallery
About the Gallery |
Andama Galleries was established on a property on the outskirts of a small village known as Stokers Siding which is in the beautiful Northern Rivers of NSW Australia. The property known as Vanguard House was purchased with the intention of housing Andama Galleries while also being a family home.
Andma Dujon is the feature artist of Andama Galleries, however the gallery also houses and sells beautiful reborn babies by a number of other artists considered to be exceptional in the art of rebirthing.
Andama over the last few years has had wonderful response from both the public and the press for her one of a kind creations especially her reborn babies, making the decision to open the gallery to the world a very easy one to make. It took two years to find the property followed by considerable renovations to the inside of the home and will be an ongoing project for the owner who is hoping to also created beautiful gardens to complement the home.
The online reborn gallery has been designed to allow the public access to a large number of babies from different artists rather than the endless searching through individual galleries on the net.
There is also a chat room in the site as well as a reborn doll forum and a reborn doll blog giving you the option to chat, leave messages, post questions or comments and generally have your say about the reborn babies as well as the artists who create them. This also gives you the opportunity make enquires about the art of rebirthing/reborning and allows us the opportunity to assist in any questions relating to the art, as well as being able to guide you to other sites which may offer assistance also relating to the subject.
Andama Galleries has accepted an offer from Michelle Jackson owner of Equerry Antiques to expand to New Zealand where works by Andama and in time other artists will also be available to the public. Equerry Antiques is a wonderful gallery which houses the most beautiful antique china, linen and very kitsch often rare items. The expansion of this gallery to New Zealand will take place early next year.
Andama galleries also donates 8 reborn babies a year to the Murwillumbah Hospital women’s auxiliary. These reborns are raffled raising funds to help the hospital purchase much needed equipment aiding in the continuation of the high standard of care provided by the staff at the hospital and Andama galleries takes their hats off to the women of the auxiliary who put in many hours each week continuing a long history of fundraising.
Up dates on the gallery are to be found on the blog and the forum so be our guests, have a look and keep up with the news.
